01Find the fault

What is it doing? There is a repair for that.

Pick the problem that sounds like yours to see the likely cause and how we put it right.

Moisture inside the glass

Likely cause: The seal on the double glazed unit has broken down, so air and moisture get in between the panes and condense as the temperature changes.
The repair: We replace the glass unit, whatever its size, and match it to your other windows, including obscure, Georgian bar and leaded designs.

Door sticks or will not lock

Likely cause: The door has dropped. It catches at the bottom and the lock no longer lines up with the keeps in the frame, so you have to force the handle up.
The repair: In most cases we realign the door by adjusting the hinges. Left alone, the lock can fail completely, which costs more. If it already has, we get the door open and replace the lock.
Guide price: Door adjustments from £75

Draughty windows

Likely cause: Worn or broken hinges often stop a window pulling in tight against the frame, and that gap lets the draught through.
The repair: We replace the hinges so the window closes snugly again.
Guide price: Replacement hinge sets from £75

Patio door will not slide

Likely cause: The wheels under the door have most likely rusted or broken.
The repair: We replace the wheels, and the track if needed, so the door runs smoothly again.

Floppy or broken handle

Likely cause: A handle that has gone loose or stopped springing back has usually worn out or broken inside.
The repair: We replace broken handles and hinges on all makes and designs, whoever fitted them.

Condensation on the room side

Likely cause: This is warm, damp air meeting a colder surface. It is caused by the difference in temperature inside and out, not by a failed unit.
The repair: We can fit trickle vents to improve ventilation. Leaving the window locked on its night latch can also help.

Need a cat flap

Likely cause: How it is fitted depends on what is at the bottom of your door.
The repair: With a PVCu panel, we fit the cat flap into the existing panel. With glass, we replace it with a new glass unit or a PVCu panel that has the cat flap built in.

Need a fire escape window

Likely cause: A standard hinge limits how far a window opens.
The repair: We change the hinges on an existing window to fire escape hinges, giving a larger opening in an emergency.

Want better security

Likely cause: Your existing windows and doors can be upgraded without replacing them.
The repair: We supply and fit locking window handles, and add extra security locks to existing doors and patio doors.
Guide price: Replacement window locks from £75
